Criminal Justice Internship Program

The criminal justice internship program is open to all students who have satisfactorily completed CJUS 2100 Crime and Justice in the U.S. (or its equivalent) and completed an additional 12 hours in the criminal justice curriculum (15 hours of CJUS coursework total).  Additional information about the course requirements is contained in the syllabus which can be downloaded by clicking on the "Forms" link Blank time sheets, enrollment forms, and liability release forms can also be downloaded by clicking on that link.

In order to participate in the internship program, students must have secured an internship placement at least one week prior to the beginning of the semester. Be sure to plan ahead! Please click on the "Steps in Obtaining an Internship" link for additional information.

Contact Dr. Blackburn to set up a meeting to be approved to participate in the program and/or to address any questions or concerns you may have about participating.

FOR STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE INTERNSHIP COURSE DURING AN UPCOMING SEMESTER:

If you are interested in interning during an upcoming emester and have not been approved yet, please contact Dr. Blackburn immediately to set up an appointment.  Prior to the meeting, please print out the current internship course syllabus (see the "Forms" link) and review it. The deadline for securing a placement for any given semester is one week prior to the semester beginning so it is always best to start your search early. There is usually a prosective intern meeting held each semester so be sure to watch out for announcements about these meetings.
