On a June Sunday evening Don and Elizabeth and I took our kids for ice cream at the Baskin Robbins in Denton Center. Upon arriving at the shopping center we found a typical small town carnival set up in the parking lot. As we ate our ice cream we walked over to the carnival to let the kids ride a few of the rides. While the kids were on one of the rides a man came up to Don and said, "We’re tearing down the rides tonight would you like to hang around, help us out and earn a little extra cash?" We laughed for the rest of the evening. At least we knew if Don’s education failed him at least he could always get a job at the carnival.
