The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree program allows students to select courses from multiple disciplines to form professional concentrations. As a result, the program draws on faculty from throughout the university. Program focus and coordination are achieved through the services of a director and an academic counselor.

Dr. McCoy coordinates the BAAS program offered by the College of Public Affairs and Community Service. She also teaches courses in Sociology (SOCI) and in Community Service (COMS). She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology with primary research interests in health disparities in the U.S. and social stratification. In 2003, Dr. McCoy served as coordinator of the Collin County Task Force for Indigent Health Care which was charged with developing a plan to address health care access issues for poor and underserved county residents. In addition to her academic experience, Dr. McCoy has over 10 years of marketing experience with IBM.

Mr. Anderson has over eight years experience as an academic counselor. He is currently president of the University Counselor's Advisors Network and is a member of the National Academic Advising Association. Mr. Anderson holds a Master's degree in secondary education.
